NEW CREATION MYSTERIES #1: Knowing
Dear New Creation,
All things purchased by Christ for us is freely ours but it doesn’t mean it is automatically manifest in our lives. This is a great deception of the devil to stop God’s people from seeking out the knowledge of what is theirs by birth and appropriating it. They become complacent and believing God to be responsible for not doing what he has done, they allow the devil free reign to oppress them.
Salvation is free. And it has been wrought not only for the presently saved but for even the unsaved. For Jesus was offered up once and for all, for all the sins of man, past, present and future. Not to be killed each time a sinner is to be forgiven, for he would have had to be sacrificed over and over since the foundation of the earth. But to deal with the sin issue once and for all.
Since it is done. God has given and sin is no longer an issue, is all saved? We’re you born as a believer? Were you born with the right to be called a son of God? No. We grew to a time of accountability in our lives where the choice became ours to either receive and appropriate what what been given or to reject it. We therefore had to individually believe with our hearts and confess with our mouths, the lordship of the risen son of God, Jesus.
If salvation didn’t come to you till you had believed and confessed I.e done something in faith to receive it, then why do you think that after you have been saved, all that is your inheritance in Christ will automatically be yours?
How then do we get what is ours?
The same way we got into the family of God. First by knowledge. For the message was preached to us for us to believe. There can be no believing without first a knowing.
Romans 10:14 (KJV)
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?“
Therefore the greatest problem of the new creature is not the doing of the word, it is the knowing of it. Without a knowledge of your rights and privileges as one who has come into the family of God, you will live as a human being instead of a divine being.
We were told of God’s plan of salvation. Told how he carried out the plan. Told the plan is ours for the taking and told the price is free because it has been paid for. Knowing this, belief was birth in our hearts and mixed with the word. It became a profiting to us when we proceeded to make our confession of the lordship of the Risen Christ in our lives. At that moment the Holy Spirit mixed with our spirits and there was a rebirth just like the creation in the beginning when the word mixed with the spirit. Until we knew of what God had done through Jesus, we couldn’t act and neither could the Holy Spirit act. But at the point of knowledge, light came into our soul, faith was born in our spirit man, we acted on this knowledge and power was released for a transformation.
From this point of birth also, the new creature who was birth by knowledge, grows by it, thrives by it and receives all that is his by it.
1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”
Now for the new creature, everything that the old man sought to achieve by working tirelessly for, now comes to him by knowledge. Knowledge of who he is, and knowledge of what he has.
The old creature sought for freedom from oppression, from addictions, from habits, from fears, from lack. He knows instinctively that he was never meant to be in bondage to these forces but he has never been able to break free. All his life he has sought freedom in diverse ways. By wars, by sorcery, by money, by drugs, but he has never been able to get that freedom. Now as the new creature, he is asked to stop trying and start knowing. At the point of knowing, freedom comes.
John 8:32 (KJV)
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
The old man wanted oneness with divinity. To connect to a higher power. To be part of something greater than himself. He has tried. With sacrifices and offerings. With rigorous rituals and strange covenants. But the new creature partakers of divinity by knowledge.
2 Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
Man has sought to have right standing with divinity. To be blameless as he once was in the garden. To run freely in the presence of a supreme father. To feel the love and oneness with that father. To come before him with boldness. He has tried to do right. To live right. To act right and to speak right. But he has never felt right. He has always felt inadequate, unworthy, undeserving and unrighteous. But by knowledge, the new man becomes righteous. By knowledge the new man becomes holy. He is sanctified and made clean. It’s simply by knowing what has been done, what has been given.
John 17:17 (KJV)
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Ephesians 5:26 (KJV)
“That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”
The old man sought to live above sin. But sin was his nature. It is impossible to act against your nature. But the new man has a new nature. By knowledge, the acts of the old nature is subdued.
The old man wants to dominate. To be above the forces of life and nature. To reign and rule over his environment. He has tried every means possible to dominate. He has gone so far as to enslave his fellow man needlessly. But he is still subject to the forces of disease and sickness. He is still helpless to the powers of storms and natural disasters. But by knowledge, the new man is made a master of all, subject only to the father of lights. Dominating over situations of life. Dominating over evil forces. Domination over sickness and death. Dominating over poverty. Dominating over the storms and nature itself. He is the greatest master of the earth just like Adam was in the beginning. All this is accomplished by knowledge.
John 10:34-35 (KJV)
“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;…”
Daniel 11:32 (KJV)
“And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits .”
The old man has developed methods of commerce to combat poverty and lack, yet more than a half of the worlds population live in abject poverty. He has failed in himself to produce a rich collective of people even from this immensely rich planet.
The new creature need not concern himself with the methods of economics of the world. Wealth creation principles and steps to riches propagated by toil and treachery will not do for the new creature. No, this new creature is made prosperous by knowledge.
Matthew 6:31-33 (KJV)
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV)
“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”
We must invest in knowing what is ours to get what is ours. It does not come automatically and the enemy must not deceive us into being complacent. He must not fool us into accepting his gifts of sorrow while our fathers provision of blessings is allowed to go unused.
Endeavor to know. God expressed displeasure in the fact that the people being destroyed, happened to be his people. Not the people of the world or of the kingdom of darkness, but his very own people. His clan. His children. They are the ones being taken out of commission by the enemy. They are the ones being made to suffer, live in poverty and being subject to sickness.God says the reason for their sufferings is not his inability to do on their behalf but their lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Knowledge reveals the fullness of who we are.
