“But Jesus called the little children to him and said to his followers, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because God’s kingdom belongs to people who are like these little children.”
Luke 18:16 (ERV)
When our heavenly Father looks at us, He longs to see the child-like innocence we too long to see in little children. Purity of thought. Purity of actions. Do not in this year believe the world’s lie that you must lose your innocence in order to enjoy life (1Cor. 6:15-20). That’s complete non-sense for it is only when we live according to our creator’s design that we truly enjoy all that he made us for. Guard your purity (1John 3:3). Stay innocent.
It is a very, very rare child who has little or no faith in the words or ability of his father. This year choose to trust your heavenly father with child-like faith (Mark 11:23-24). Be eager to hear and quick to obey (James 2:14-26). Be willing to ask and be expectant of His speedy answers.
3. CURIOSITY‘Mummy, if God created all of us, then who created God?‘ 😯 Children ask some of the most amazing questions, don’t they? In 2015, you too must be determined to stay curious and spiritually hungry for deeper insights into God’s Word. Why? Because the measure of God’s blessings we enjoy is directly proportional to the degree of our spiritual understanding of the things that have been freely given to us in Christ Jesus (1Cor. 2:9-12). So don’t kid yourself into thinking you know all there is to know. Ask God for more insights into His word and watch His blessings explode in every area of your life.
No matter how old we get, it’s never alright for us to be arrogant (Eph. 6:2).So like a child, remain humble this year as you remember that God always resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). Also do not forget to give God all the glory due Him as He takes you to new levels of grace and glory.
In other words allow no room for anxiety and worry and HAVE FUN. Children never spend time worrying about what tomorrow would bring. Their child-like faith in their parents causes them to trust that dad and mum would take care of things. Now, I’m not saying be irresponsible and go about partying your life away 😐 . Instead I’m saying be anxious for nothing this year (Philp. 4:6). Plan, pray , prepare, act and relax. Our heavenly Father would sort all the other things out! 😉
Finally, no holding grudges this year. or next year, or next year, or next year, or…… Life is more enjoyable when we refuse to carry grudges around. After all, God has forgiven us soooo much. We owe it to Him to forgive others of their trespasses (Col. 3:12-13). So, make a firm decision to forgive quickly and completely this year and always…by the help of the Holy Spirit of course. Shalom!
