‘7’ Things I Know To Be True About Sex
1. God created sex (Gen 1:27-28):
God created man and gave him the desire and ability to enjoy sex. Hence, just as a manufacturer of a product serves as the source of authentic information abouut his/her product, so also is God the sole source of authentic information about how, why and when His gift of sex is to be used.
2. Sex is pleasurable (Prov. 5:18-19):
There’s no denying this. God designed sex to give us pleasure. However pleasure isn’t the only biblical purpose for which God gave us this gift. Other biblical purposes for sex include; procreation, companionship & intimacy.
3. Sex is sacred (Eph. 5:21, Heb.13:4):
Casual sex is a lie! According to our creator’s design, sex is a sacred/holy act that brings two people together in covenant. At intercourse, two people become one flesh as the mysterious hymen breaks (scientists have no idea what the hymen’s function is) and blood flows to seal the covenant.
4. Sex outside of marriage is a sin (1Cor. 6:13,18)
Even if you’re only hours away from your wedding ceremony, the creator of sex declares that sex outside the bounds of marriage is sin. Even if your spouse isn’t giving it to you like you want it, again-God’s instructions are the same, sex outside your marriage relationship is a big no, no.
It doesn’t matter what all the celebrities are doing or what your parents or colleagues at work think is acceptable, God’s standards are clear and we do well to heed them.
6. Homosexuality is a sin (1Cor. 6:9-11)
Neither the legalization of same-sex marriage or the proliferation of movies celebrating a homosexual lifestyle will change God’s Word on this matter. Let God be true and all men liars. Homosexuality is an abnormal use of the creators kind gift of sex (Rom. 1:21-27). That’s what His Word says and that’s what I believe.
7. Sexual immorality is not the unpardonable sin (Mark 3:22-30):
If you’ve indulged in sexual activity which God’s Word disapproves of, don’t be overcome by condemnation. Jesus still loves you and will forgive you. All he requires is that you return to him.
So, rise today, and go boldly to him in prayer that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help you in your time of weakness. Also be sure to do away with tempting situations and relationships while you seek God. God’s grace is sufficient for you. Don’t despair.
